Hello! My name is Felicia . I am a wife, mother, and now, as you know, a business owner! 

 

I first thought of opening my own event planning business when I was helping a friend who was completely lost while planning her wedding and had no idea what direction to go. She was getting married in 9 months and didn't even know the color scheme… Listen, anyone who knows, colors come first before you can do anything! Girl, sit back and let me help a sister out.  In just one day, I helped her determine so many aspects of her wedding and she was able to organize all of her ideas and get to a comfortable spot to move on and relax a little. I was completely engrossed and it helped me remember how much I loved that feeling I get when a plan comes together. The time passed so quickly that day.

 

That's when I realized I was a huge weirdo, that really did love spending hours designing and organizing. Apparently, not everyone loves schedules and putting plans into actions. Who knew?! It wasn't just that though, I was able to help her with one of the most important and memorable events in her life. All jokes aside, she had beautiful ideas and in her head it all made sense, but she couldn't articulate what she was trying to accomplish.. Some people have a hard time putting their ideas into something that makes sense without physically seeing it. I can do that for you! I can take your thoughts and turn it into something visual so you can see your dreams start to unfold right in front of you.

 

I honestly believe that everyone has amazing ideas, and every unique style is special and should be seen at your event because that's what makes it you. I want your friends and family to come and to be in awe, not of my ideas but yours, all I did was help organize them and make them happen. I understand not everyone can just imagine things in their head, lay it out, and make it work. I also know how confusing and overwhelming planning events can be for some, but for me it's what makes me tick! I love that by doing what I love I am able to take away what makes you cringe, so you can enjoy the bliss of why you're throwing the event in the first place. I help people who are feeling stuck and stagnant get unblocked so they can feel connected to their creativity again and start making those thoughts and ideas come to life.

 

When I started to build this business, I also began to realize I have already been doing this in my life and in my friend's lives for years now and never even realized it. I have planned countless occasions, weddings, birthday parties, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and more just for fun and it made me think… here's an idea, maybe more than just my friends need help with this. It doesn't seem to come as naturally to most of them as I felt like it did for me and maybe I can relieve this "stress" from other lives.

 

Totally embarrassing fun fact about me... I cringe at the thought of someone hosting something local or destination somewhere sight unseen and just completely winging it! There are so many people that just glide through things with no plan, and they love it. Some can even be good at it, and kudos to you, but there's no way I could. What do you do? Do you just hope for the best? How do you relax? How do people live like this?  Well come to find out, I'm one of the few that don't… I personally prefer to have a plan and have everything ready so day of, I just sit there, relax, have a few cocktails, and enjoy what I created. 

 

On another note I have also coordinated, planned, and attended tons of my own domestic trips to places like New Orleans, Milwaukee, Las Vegas, Texas, Florida, Gulf Shores, Missouri, Indiana, Nashville, and of course around good ol' Illinois. I've done the same for a few international trips to places like Costa Rica, Australia, Peru, Mexico and never realizing this planning/coordinating thing has literally been my entire life. My husband is probably so thankful I can do this for other people now because if I am not planning something for someone else, you best believe we'll have another trip around the corner because I can't stop!

 

I used to think about starting my own travel agency, but then I realized traveling can be so unpredictable and boring for the planner. If I plan a trip to an area I know isn't safe and someone gets hurt, I'll never forgive myself. Plus, I don't get to go so what's the fun in that? (major fomo) Weddings/Events on the other hand, I can predict almost every aspect of them. I get to actually attend them and see the dream unfold AND after I get them all planned and ready, there will be very minimum to worry about day of! How do you not want that life for you?
